This machine significantly expands our capacity for high-volume small roll rewinding with perforation and a variety of other applications. The JLS-84 Rewinder allows us to deliver a wide range of roll sizes and perforation patterns, with finished roll sizes ranging from 6” to 18” OD in widths from 6” to 84”.
Cold Needle Perforation
This process, also referred to as Needle Cold Perforation or Cold Pinned Perforation Services, creates perforations in materials like nonwovens, paper, and films using sharp pins without applying heat. Cold needle perforation is appropriate when the process requires the one-way passage of liquids or solids because the holes often partially reclose after perforation. This cost-effective technique lets air or gases escape and helps avoid bloating in finely perforated bags. Pinned cold perforation, a similar process, creates volcanic-shaped holes that are beneficial for controlling moisture and airflow in breathable packaging for food and pharmaceuticals, among other products.
Micro Perforation
As the term implies, micro perforation involves the creation of very small and oftentimes dense patterns of holes. Micro perforated films allow for more precise control of breathability, drainage, and other functional aspects, making this one of our specialized converting services.
